A vibrant and sustainable mid-rise residence
Waterdown Millview Residences were envisioned as a refined mid-rise condominium in Waterdown, Ontario, offering a welcoming retirement-oriented community within the charm of this historic, small-town neighbourhood. Nestled between natural green space and walkable village amenities, the project is designed for retirees seeking a low-maintenance, high-quality home in a mature yet growing locale. Scenic trails, local shops, and direct access to Hamilton and the GTA make Waterdown an ideal retirement destination.
Our team conducted a development study, combining planning, market analysis, financial modeling, and design feasibility. We collaborated with architecture and engineering partners to test mid-rise typologies, unit mixes, and amenity options suited for seniors. Walkability, access to services, and future demographic trends were analyzed to ensure long-term value and a meaningful quality of life.
The proposed community would feature well-proportioned 1- and 2-bedroom condominium units with accessible layouts, generous common spaces, a rooftop terrace, and a landscaped courtyard. By focusing on sustainability, social connectivity, and aging-in-place principles, our study demonstrates how a mid-rise retirement condo can become a gentle anchor the town — strengthening the neighbourhood while offering an aspirational living option for older adults.
